Different Types Of Bushings
The Different Type Of Bushings
The bushing is a matching part used outside the mechanical parts to achieve the functions of sealing, wear protection. It refers to the ring sleeve that functions as a gasket. In the field of valve applications, the bushing is inside the valve cover, and corrosion-resistant materials such as polytetrafluoroethylene or graphite are generally used for sealing.
Taper Lock Bushings
The Taper Lock bush, also referred to as a Taper bush or Taper Fit bush, is a locking mechanism commonly used in Power Transmission Drives for locating pulleys, sprockets, and couplings to shafts. The Taper Lock bush is pre-bored and keyed to match the required shaft and keyway diameters.
QD Taper Bushings
Browning Q-D Bushings Standard Sizes - 1/2” - 7” bore range. Metric Sizes - 24mm - 100mm bore range. For use with Browning sheaves, sprockets, and pulleys; dimensionally interchangeable with the competitive Q-D bushings. Barrel taper is 3” per foot.
Split Taper Bushings
The split tapered bushing is a flanged bushing. Split tapered bushings are utilized on sheaves, pulleys, sprockets and gear belt pulleys. The split tapered bushing alleviates the need to have a component bored to size, ideally lowering on hand requirements and allowing for changes in shaft size if necessary.
